Ellen Decker’s lyrical work is a welcome gift to any reader who has ever experienced – or wondered – what it’s like to roam among worlds.

Ellen’s gift of storytelling has a way of drawing people in, and the wonderful mix of humor and pathos and reality kept me turning pages. This is a book of facts, yes. Of culture, yes. Of inspiration, a BIG YES! Chock-full of fascinating stories, awesome descriptions, and just excellent storytelling. Beautifully written with expressive language, this lyrical work is a ‘keeper’ for anyone interested in missions, miracles, or laugh-aloud adventures in the last Kingdom of Africa.

Healing and hope in the midst of the AIDS crisis

Ellen is a compelling spokesperson for compassion around the world. Her book on AIDS in Africa is a classic.

Merrit Mann, retired IBM Executive

Ellen’s book was instrumental in the Eswatini (Swaziland) Partnership.

Rev. David Busic, General Superintendent, Church of the Nazarene

Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and Southern Nazarene University were further inspired by Africa’s Soul Hope to begin a partnership with government and church leaders in Eswatini (Swaziland), the country with the highest HIV/AIDS and TB prevalence in the world at that time.

The Eswatini (Swaziland) Partnership has sent more than 40 volunteer teams totaling more than 1,000 people. They have a long list of wonderful accomplishments, including providing medical, dental, and eye care; partnering with Coca-Cola to build 52 solar-powered water wells; building schools, child development centers, clinics and churches; renovating two hospitals; producing a music CD with Swazi and American voices; printing a booklet for standardized medical care for Swazi children; building and operating a shelter for abused women; and sending $1.5+million in dental, medical, and educational supplies. Now in its 19th successful year, we praise God for what He is doing through the Eswatini Partnership.
